Our initial contact with other beings , both human and non human is through feeling. It is through some form of Love and devotion that we begin to feel God on a soul level within us. It has been said that Love is the surest connection between ourselves and God, it exists through the Cross as well as through our contacts in our daily lives. Auriel provides those contacts with his earthly means. Through the growth of a tree, or the running stream, we see the Light of God offering us examples of Truth. Through the contacts with humans and other animal forms, we see the chance to learn and show unconditonal Love. Individually, we recognize our worldly contacts as part of The Face of God, and as we learn to feel love for them objectively we must raise that feeling of objective Love to the unconditional Love that gives us ultimate redemtion on the Cross of Christ. This obviously is a change through sacrifice, it is first introduced to us in some worldly way, provided by Auriel. In this way he is a very "individual" archangel indeed. He enables us to manifest exactly what we need in our paths toward the Higher Genius in order to give substance to our sacrifices along the way.
Sometimes our struggles with him are of a very direct nature, as is shown in the book of Genesis: "…And he rose up that night, and took his two wives and his two womenservants and his eleven sons…and he took them, and sent them over the brook and sent over all that he had. …And Jacob was left alone and there wrestled with a man until the breaking of the day. …And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he (Jacob) said, I will not let thee go except thou bless me."
