Uriel is given the month of September which makes him functional through the sign of Virgo.He has also been credited with bringing alchemy to mankind. Francis Barrett says in "The Magus" : "…Suffice it to say, that Alchymy, the grand touch stone of Wisdom, is of Devine origin : it was brought down from heaven by the Angel Uriel." His alchemical nature seems to show itself well in the account in Genisis of Jacob wrestling with him and thereby becoming Israel or the Prince of God.
In Auriel’s ability to offer individual atonement with God, he is further described as follows:
"…As one of the immortal angels of the undying God who, on the day of
Judgement, will break the monstrous bars framed of unyielding and unbroken adamant
of brazen of Hades, and cast them straightway, and yea of the ghosts of the ancient
Titans and of the giants and all the flood overtook…and of all these shall he bring to
Judgement seat…and set before God’s seat."
In summation, could be said that Auriel, in his Fire of God aspect, is alchemical in nature as well as God’s avenger and redeemer and is the giver and manifestor of Life on earth. He is the Living earth itself and both our friend and adversary in his "Face of God" aspect. Finally in his Grace of God aspect he shows us the beauty of Life itself and acts to show each of us our own personal way to become one with God. In that "Darkly Splendid World," the Light of God is always within reach.
